What is iLoad ?
iLoad is an easy to use portable device that copies CDs and DVDs onto an iPod without using a personal computer or requiring an Internet connection.
Does iLoad work with the iPhone and iTouch ?
As of 15 June 2008, no, due to changes Apple implemented to the file system. An update to insure iPhone/iTouch compatibility will be released by iLoad on or about 15 July 2008. Registered users will receive an email notification of the update, which, in most cases can be electronically updated at no charge directly by the iLoad device.
What kinds of DVDs does iLoad copy to the iPod?
iLoad copies DVDs to an iPod for your own private legitimate use only. iLoad works with most DVDs. We have tested commercially purchased DVDs as well as those from NetFlix, Blockbuster and Hollywood Video.
How does it work?
Connect your iPod to the iLoad, insert a CD and DVD, make the choice to copy selected tracks or the entire disc. That's it !
How long does it take iLoad™ to transfer a CD and DVD to an iPod®?
It takes about 8 minutes depending upon condition of the CD and length of the CD. iLoad™ typically transfers at greater than 5 times "real time". In other words: Usually 1/5 of the actual playing time. Cleanliness of the CD or scratches affect the transfer time. Clean CDs take less time than scratched or dirty CDs. DVDs take approximately 2.5x the actual playing time. A two hour movie will take approximately 4.5 hours to transfer to the iPod. Believe it or not, that's actually faster than most computers. What if I don't have or want to use a computer? Do I have to use or have a computer to copy my CDs and DVDs with all album and track information to my iPod®?
No. It is not necessary to use or have a computer or Internet connection to use iLoad™. If you do have access to a non-password protected Internet connection via Ethernet, iLoad™ can retrieve software updates and update its music database.
If I load CDs and video onto an iPod with iLoad, how can I have a backup of my valuable music and content?
iLoad can backup your iPod to an external USB drive and can transfer content from one iPod to another for legitimate reasons. When using our 120GB Passport USB drive no additional external power is required.
Does iLoad™ copy the entire CD or DVD to the iPod®?
You can copy the entire CD or DVD or select individual tracks to transfer to the iPod®.
What iPod® models does iLoad™ work with?
iLoad™ is compatible with all iPod®s from and including 3rd Generation onward, including the Shuffle®. iLoad will not operate with the oldest "firewire" iPods.
At what recording rate does iLoad™ record to the iPod®?
The default rate is 128K You can choose higher or lower rates at your option.
What are the dimensions of the iLoad™?
8" long by 7.25 " wide by 3.35 " high. Weight 4 pounds.
Is iLoad™ battery operated?
No. The high power consumption of the iLoad™ DVD slot-load drive precludes this. However an automobile or vehicle accessory power adaptor is available.
Can you listen to tracks?
Yes, iLoad™ has a 2.5mm audio output jack. You can select tracks to listen to and then decide whether or not to transfer them to the iPod®.
I already have a computer. Why would I want iLoad™?
iLoad™ offers convenience and portability. No waiting for a computer to "boot" up, no need to fill up a hard disk with large music and video files. Why does your music and video have to be transferred onto a computer just to get it onto your iPod anyway? It doesn't...with iLoad.

Once I transfer a CD to my iPod® with iLoad™, how do I get the Music and Track information onto my iPod®?
iLoad™ supplies the Music and Track information for more than 1.8 million songs. The iPod® music database is automatically updated with this information upon completion of a transfer.
Does iLoad™ need to connect to the Internet in order to obtain music and track data?
No. If you have an Ethernet Internet connection, iLoad™ can receive updates to its music database as new songs are released. Updates are also available via a mailed or expressed CD.
How do I update iLoad™'s music database when new albums are released?
The iLoad™ Music Database can be updated via a non-password protected Ethernet Internet connection without charge to registered owners. Alternatively, Update CDs are available on a subscription basis. Internet updates are complimentary for the first year. You can receive an updated database monthly, quarterly, yearly by CD or on-request for a nominal handling and mailing fee of $9.95 per update.
What color is iLoad™?
iLoad™ is a glossy bright white.
What about those colorful iLoad™ designs shown on the web site?
iLoad™ "skins" are an accessory item. These are one-time removable self-adhesive skins and a software application that lets you print out the pre-supplied designs on a color "photo printer" that can accept 8" x 10" sheets. 10 blank sheets are provided in each Skin Pak. The skins can be removed without damage to your iLoad™. The cost of a Skin Pak is $29.95.
What is the iLoad™ warranty?
Ninety days on parts and labor from date of purchase on any manufacturing or part defect.
Is an extended warranty available?
A 3 year parts and labor warranty is available for $69.95. Simply return a defective iLoad™ to us and we'll ship out a replacement unit within 2 business days after receipt. Additional shipping charges may apply outside of the USA.
When I transfer music from my CDs onto an iPod® using iLoad™ and then sync with iTunes®, do I lose the music that I just transferred onto the iPod® with iLoad™?
No. Please make sure that you set your iPod® and iTunes to "Manage my music manually".
After loading music or video onto my iPod® with iLoad™, is the newly loaded music and video loaded into my iTunes library on my computer when I re-connect to iTunes?
It's up to you.

Why does iLoad have various connectors and ports on the rear of the iLoad.?
When copying CDs to an iPod, you'll use either of the two USB connectors. iLoad can update its system and music database via a wired, non-password-required Ethernet connection, so there's an Ethernet port also. The additional ports and connectors are for use with iLoad + and for use in military, medical, industrial and other commercial applications.
